Freeholder Rios has been a member of the Freeholder Board since March 2008. He is the board’s Deputy Director
and chairman of the Department of Public Health and Education.
He was a Carteret councilman for 10 years, serving as council president from 2003 to 2008. As councilman, he spearheaded a truck diversion plan off of Roosevelt Avenue in West Carteret and the upgrade of Veterans Memorial in Carteret Park and oversaw construction of the borough’s 9-11 memorial.
Freeholder Rios was employed with Conrail as a Carman inspector for 30 years, while also serving as a consultant safety trainer for the AFL-CIO teaching Hazardous Materials Safety Training.
